An Autumn Update from Bramble Cottage

Autumn is well and truly here at Bramble Cottage!

First, we are pleased to have maintained our Superhost status with Airbnb

And also to be rated 9.5/10 Exceptional on Booking.com

Secondly, to thank guests for their lovely reviews. Here are just a few excerpts of some recent ones:

“If you are planning a trip to the Cotswolds, this is the place to stay”.

“We felt right at home as soon as we walked in the door”.

“You really couldn’t ask for better”.

“Beautiful cottage ideally placed for our short stay. Well laid out, and equipped with everything you could need”.

We were delighted to host several guest parties over the summer who were attending weddings. Bramble Cottage is well-sited as the place to stay for at least four local, and all very lovely, wedding venues.

We hosted our first “groom-to-be” with his groomsmen, and in Spring, have a “bride-to-be” booked in, together with her bridesmaids. All very exciting to be part of their “Big Day”.

It’s also a pleasure to host guests from overseas, and over the summer months, we had several visitors from “across the pond”.

Here’s the running order, so far, of the States where they have travelled from:

California, Oregon, Indiana, Kentucky, Utah.

We managed to get a few days of sun ourselves in Menorca in early September. Having found a fabulous restaurant, “Okapi” in Platges de Fornells, we were pleasantly surprised to see a “Xori-Bramble” cocktail on their menu, made with the local Menorcan gin. Obviously, one – or four – just had to be tested!

Wishing you all a golden autumn, or fall!

Best wishes from the Bramble cottage team.

Our Brambley (Spiky) Neighbours!

With the nights drawing in, you may catch a glimpse of one of our resident hedgehogs before their winter hibernation.

Encouragingly, we’ve had hedgehog families living locally now for several years, after populations had dropped significantly.

Pete, our neighbour and worldly-countryman knows his stuff about our native wildlife, and says, “he’s the biggest hedgehog I’ve ever seen!”

So off we went to buy some specially-formulated Hedgehog food (they’re fussy) and found the perfect brand for our Bramble Cottage neighbours!

Our first “Brambler” Blog …

Thank you!

We’ve now passed our sixty bookings mark at Bramble Cottage and would like to thank you all for your kind messages, support and lovely reviews.

We are delighted to have achieved Superhost status with Airbnb and that Bramble Cottage is now ranked in their top 5% of properties.

We have hosted guests from as far afield as Queensland, Australia; Beijing, China; Singapore, Germany and Denmark.

Here’s just a very small flavour of your lovely comments:

“It was such a joy to come back to each evening, homely, spotless and welcoming inside”.

“Probably the nicest Airbnb I have stayed in. Just outside a lovely Cotswolds village”.

“Lovely, pristine cottage with tasteful decor. One of the loveliest Airbnbs we’ve ever stayed in”.

“A perfect base for a holiday in the North Cotswolds, so well equipped that it was like a home from home”.

Hollyhocks

This summer’s hollyhocks didn’t quite match last years, but we have great expectations for future years as the plants are growing and propagating themselves nicely. We entered our blooms in the annual competition for the tallest hollyhock run by our local magazine, the Campden Bulletin, but alas didn’t win this year. If any of you have any tips (feed it beer?) please let us know!
